Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Participates in hospital or departmental performance improvement activities, and seeks opportunities to improve department and inter-department processes.
- Serves as a resource to department staff, students, volunteers and other departments, and contributes to the teamwork essential to ensuring quality patient care.
- Takes appropriate measures to ensure safety of staff, patients and guests.
- Direct and execute the transformation of raw or processed foods into an acceptable high-quality, consistent finished food product for patients, Market Café, and catering events.
- Preparation techniques should, conserve the nutritive value of food, enhance flavor and attractiveness of the original color, form and texture, and assure the safety of the food for human consumption.
- Maintain the food preparation, display and service, which are in compliance with all regulatory standards e.g. JCAHO, Medicare, Texas Department of Health and City Health Department of Lewisville.
- Efficiently direct the activities and staff associated with cold and hot food production, meal preparation for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
- Supervise the activities of all food production associates, ensuring quality standards are met and policy and procedures are followed.
- Plan and execute menu, food production, and delivery of all catering events.
- Work closely with department Director in planning menus.
- Ensures the highest quality standards are met in all food production.
- Inventories and orders food required for the preparation of meals for patients, The Market Café, Dr Dining Room, and Catering Evemts.
- Supervise the Market Café staff and ensure the serving of food is presentable and restraint quality.
- Coach staff providing a work environment that is fair, honest, fun , safe and productive.
- Perform special assignments as needed/requested.
